Abstract
Further development of transplantation is becoming increasingly problematic despite the impressive achievements. A deficit of donor organs is becoming the main constraint factor of its development in the world and in Russia. This article is an introduction to a series of review articles on actual issues of organ donation.

Abstract
Objective: To determine risk factors for infection in patients after orthotopic liver transplantation.
Material: Retrospective analysis of 215 liver transplantations in the Sklifosofsky Research Institute for Emergency Medicine.
Results: Bleeding from esophageal varices, the presence of refractory ascites, prolonged cold ischemia, reperfusion injury, severe graft, hyperbilirubinemia, as well as a number of comorbidities were found as established reliable risk factors for infectious and septic complications after liver transplantation.

Abstract
The efficiency of the advagraf as the main immunosuppressant in renal transplant recipients in the early postoperative period has been assessed. A good tolerability of the medicament has been confirmed. Satisfactory performance of renal graft function recovery after surgery was marked. Recommendations on the use of the advagraf in the early terms after kidney transplantation, including a condition of a violation of the gastrointestinal tract function.
